Representative Frevert has been the state representative from District 7 in Iowa for the past 10 years and serves on the following committees: Agriculture, Education Appropriation, Natural Resources, Ways & Means, Renewable Fuels Advisory, and Administrative Rules Review. Her interests include improving quality health care, maintaining excellence in education, preserving the rural culture, and providing tax equity.

Representative Frevert is a life-time resident of Palo Alto County and spent 30 years in the career of teaching. She was awarded the Iowa Reading Teacher of the Year award in 1994 and is Past President of the Iowa Reading Association.

In 2002, Representative Frevert was awarded the Emmetsburg Citizen of the Year award. She served twelve years on the on the Palo Alto County Soil & Water District Commission and is a farm owner and operator. She is married to William, a retired veterinarian, and has four grown children, twelve grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Senator John P. Kibbie is the state senator from Senate District 4, a position he has held for 25 years.  Senator Kibbie broke historical ground in 2005 when he served as co-president of the Iowa Senate along with Senator Jeff Lamberti of Ankeny.  He is serving on the following committees, along with the co-presidency:  Agriculture, Ethics, Rules and Administration, State Government, Educational Appropriations, and IPERS.
Senator Kibbie is most proud of his involvement with Community Colleges.  He handled the original bill establishing the Community College system.  He also has a great deal of interest in Veterans affairs and agriculture-related issues, especially the development of ethanol.

Senator Kibbie was first elected and served in the Senate from 1960 – 1968.  He was returned to office in 1988 and continues in that position today.  In 1986 he was awarded the Citizen of the Year Award in Emmetsburg.   He is a farmer, has lived in the Palo Alto county area all his life, and is a veteran of the Korean War.  He and his wife Kay are the parents to 11 children and 23 grandchildren.
