Dinner Date and Multipurpose Senior Citizens Center

The Senior Citizens Center (Palo Alto Community Center) is located at 2008 11th St. It provides a facility for Dinner Date meals and provides a social environment for senior citizens.

The Dinner Date meals are nutritious dinners provided for Senior Citizens 55 and better on Monday through Friday at noon. The purpose is to provide healthy meals for those who may or may not be able to afford them otherwise. The price for the meal is a voluntary donation. The public is also invited to eat. For those under 55, the cost is $5. You must call for a dinner reservations the day before. Special programs are provided, such as Christmas parties and other holiday parties, and musical entertainment. The meals are prepared at the Emmetsburg Care Center. The Northwest Aging Association of Spencer sponsors the Dinner Date program.

The Center is governed by the Palo Alto Council on Aging and works closely with the Dinner Date program. The Center is normally open 9 – 1 Monday through Friday. They occasionally hold fundraisers, such as pancake breakfast, soup & pie meal, Bake Sales, BBQ, etc. available to the public. The facility is available to rent for $50 for special events.
