Harvest Fest
The Emmetsburg Retail Association, a new group under the Chamber of Commerce, sponsored a new event in October, 2006, called Harvest Fest.
The first event was very successful with 400 people attending. The Retail Association provided a free lunch for everyone, with donations accepted for new Christmas Decorations in Emmetsburg. The VFW was decorated with pumpkins and scarecrows. The Pumpkins had been decorated by the elementary students from Emmetsburg Catholic and West Elementary schools. The Scarecrows were submitted by a variety of people and organizations. Many awards were given for the “best” in the various categories.
A drawing was also held for a free night stay at the Suburban Motel.
